Continuing with the theme of fissures in rocks. These slab pots will be raku fired. As before, the burnished areas will be white and the textured areas black.
March/April
Thrown bowls and slab dishes larger than the first ones, decoration will be incised, slips and glazes.

Exploring surface decoration in stoneware using incised lines picked out with a black wash and various coloured slips. The dishes are slab-built and the others thrown.

FEB/MARCH 2019
This album shows three types of form: shallow dishes, slab pots and panels, together with some thrown bottles in the last two images. The first ones are waiting to be biscuit-fired and the black and white ones at the end are waiting for a calm, non-windy day, so I can give them the final firing – raku. They are all slab-built and I’m working on the textures found in rocks.

DECEMBER 2018
All of the work in this album is waiting to be biscuit-fired, all handbuilt, which is a departure from my usual thrown pots. I’m exploring the possibilities of texture.
